Police Cell Decontamination & Cleaning
Complete Maintenance Services provide a service for decontamination to the Police and Prison Service for Cells which removes the risk of infection after a blood and/or body fluid spill as part of the cleanup service. The risk of infection is high in places like Police Stations and Prisons, Railway and Bus Stations and local amenities and is is easy for contagious disease to be spread in these places.
Viral and disease decontamination is also undertaken along with blood removal. Communal areas such as toilets, and shower areas are sanitized with disinfectants.
Biohazards are another threat - blood, urine, faces and vomit need to be removed immediately and the area disinfected safely to provide a hygienic and safe environment to both the police personnel and criminal inmates.
We have a team of highly trained individuals to ensure procedures relating to decontamination and the removal of any biohazard materials are done correctly in full accordance with current Health & Safety, government and COSHH procedures.
Potential Hazards from a Bodily Fluid
Bodily fluids such as blood, urine, faeces and vomit present the risk of exposure to a whole host of pathogens and diseases, the most common examples are HIV, hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and viral hemorrhagic fevers. Given that some blood-borne diseases are lethal, standard practice regards all blood (and any body fluid) as potentially infectious.
In addition, there are several legal requirements which need to be adhered to when locating and safely eliminating biohazards such as blood, body fluids and needlesticks which when mishandled can contribute to serious illnesses if adequate precautions are not taken.
